A minimally invasive procedure is a good alternative for individuals who are looking to minimize their downtime after a procedure, and to get back to their busy lives as soon as possible. These are specialized and minor treatments to an area of the face and body, rather than a full procedure. Minimally invasive procedures can usually be performed under local anesthesia at Hsu Plastic Surgery, making it a comfortable and easy experience. This makes recovery faster and easier than procedures performed under general anesthesia.

Why go Mini?

1. minimally invasive

2. targeted for younger women in their 40s to 50s

3. decreased downtown & recovery

4. local anesthesia

5. Most mini-procedures yield results up to 5 years. Following is a list of some of the mini-procedures that we offer:

A procedure ideal for those who do not have advanced signs of aging. A mini-facelift and neck lift smooths loose skin on the face by tightening skin tissues. It requires a shorter recovery period compared to a traditional facelift or neck lift and can be done under local anesthesia.

The forehead is one of the most visible areas on the face to display the signs of aging. A mini-brow lift raises and reshapes the eyebrows and the upper eyelid, raising the brows and lifting up some of the excess skin up out of the upper eyelid area.

An optimal procedure for individuals with excess upper eyelid skin. Excess skin can cause puffiness around the eyes hindering one’s appearance and may impair vision because of sagging skin. Surgery will remove unwanted skin while contouring the eyes back to their natural state.

A mini-tummy tuck focuses on contouring the lower abdomen.  The skin in the lower abdomen can become loose from weight loss, childbirth, or C-sections. This procedure is suitable for patients with minor fat and skin excess or scars from past surgeries.

Past surgeries, pregnancy, breast-feeding, and normal aging can take a toll on the appearance of the breasts. A mini-breast lift raises the nipple and areola back to its original position and provides a firm and and youthful contour.

A minimal scar is an important finishing touch on every plastic surgery procedure.  Dr. Hsu uses a special multi-layered closure technique for many of his operations. This technique minimizes scar by using multiple layers of stitching within tissue and the skin.  Very fine thread material is used for the stitches, and some of these stitches are hardly thicker than a human hair.  For most procedures, Dr. Hsu uses completely self-dissolving sutures, which means that there is no need for stitch removal and more comfort for patients.  The combination of all of these techniques with the selection of thin self-dissolving sutures means minimized scars for all patients, and added comfort too.

Below you can see some pictures of some surgical scars done with this special technique.  Results vary with each patient, but this is an example of the type of scar that can be achieved with this technique.
